Logbook 5 Now Available

The latest Logbook release is now available having been fully tested on Access and Oracle platforms.

Here is a list of the main changes included in version 5:
1 Store and display Pictures in Forms, pictures may be placed in Word Reports, on Labels and within published web pages.
2 Create Labels
3 User Interface improvements to the Main, Reporting and archiving screens
4 Bookmarking pages for later selection or reference
5 Ability to Save simple and multi-pass searches for repeated use later by yourself or others
6 Reports, Labels and Published pages may incorporate Files and Pictures
7 Filtered search for Chapters and Usernames to allow rapid Chapter selection and electronic signing
8 Form fields may now be validated (e.g. is an integer between 1 and 20 or has the correct format to be an email address etc)
9 Ability to read user information via LDAP / Active Directory
10 Sign multiple signing fields with one electronic signature
11 MySQL may now be used as the database host and data may be read in to Logbook via an ODBC interface.
12 Default a tabular form with values read using an external database link.
13 Files may now be stored either in a Logbook controlled folder or within the database itself (Oracle or MySQL only)
14 Signing fields on forms may be signed only by specific role(s)
